Henry has been a little star today!
We were having a fundraising open day at work so I volunteered to go with Henry to rattle a tin and collect signatures on a petition. I was a bit concerned that Henry would find it all too exciting but I decided to give it a go, and parked the car right next to the stand so if it all got a bit much he could sit in the car with all the windows open.
Well he was just great
He has worn his special campaigns t-shirt all day and has had a collecting tin attached to his harness as well (I am a cruel owner). He has been stroked and poked by any number of children (and grownups), had a rattley tin hanging off his side and has had his tail tripped over and his ears waved about and he never once turned a hair. He is normally really boisterous when meeting strangers but today he has just sat quietly and shaken paws with people and when I was talking to people about what we do he sat quietly until we were done. He was really gentle with the tiddlers and the old folks as well.
His collecting tin was full by the end of the day and people were making return trips to see him and give him dog biscuits, and kept saying how great he is
One little girl even thought I ought to put him as a prize in the raffle so she could win him and take him home!
I'm sure I'll pay for it soon, but today he has been fab and I am very proud of him
