Due to the weather been horrible and wet icy snowy etc I haven't been able to jump my pony Jet as much. So Monday with the weather been nice and the field all dry and lovely I decided to pull the jumps out for a play.
We warmed up, jumped the little practice fence perfectly a few times. I'd set up a double to test how good/bad she'd got over her break. Jet can be a bit funny with new fences she hasn't seen before and get rushy and overexcited. I put the first element as a small cross and a pole where the second was going to be. Jumped this fine. Put the second part of the double up as a small straight, jumped the first part got to the second one and runs off to the side with me over her neck hanging on and I somehow managed to hold on. Just as it happens one of the neighbours were going into their house and saw
So I go round again jumps first part of the double gets to the second she SLAMS ON THE BREAKS and I go straight through her ears and end up at the other side. This time the neighbour is hanging out of his window watching!
extremely embarassing but I said didn't catch that on video did you? Managed to stay on for the rest of the session.
Today
Decided its a nice day again and because Jet did better than I expected yesterday I would try her again and maybe reintroduce some bounce fences(not done them since last year) again. Started with the practice cross poles. Everything good. Do the double from yesterday. Perfect. Sets up the bounce. Does it extremely well first try. Practiced that a while and I got adventurous and put up a triple combination with a bounce and raised the first element
Trot up to it, pop the first one, jumps out on the second element leaving me flying into the wing knocking it over. Great! Even better 2 different neighbours from yesterday saw me
But I picked myself up put the jump back together got back on and accomplished what we set out to do. We even managed to do a small course

Even though I've fallen off twice in 2 days and have some pretty big bruises coming up on my legs by my knees I've still got a huge smile on my face. I'm so proud of her cos she can be a really difficult cowbag when it comes to jumping and completely take the p*** but she has exceeded my expectations this week.

VERY PROUD MUMMY!!!!!!
I'm going for a hat trick tomorrow! Another report to come!!!
