As I’m off, I’m on dog walk duty. Zak goes out alone so I can give him my full attention, a few ball retrieves, mostly mooching round in the shade.

Next up are the B boys, Bear and Brig, who can be trusted round other dogs so are allowed to run free in the small area of woodland, all in the shade.

Someone had dumped a solid block of cooked rice on the main path to the woodland, just why?! From a distance, I told Bear to leave it and he spat out the mouthful he’d grabbed! So proud!

Dementia deaf dog had to go on the lead til we passed it, he’s a gannet!

We did a whole walk this morning without Luna eating a single thing! Not sure if the cleaners had been out, or I was more on the ball. We did have to run a gauntlet as we went through a cut through where someone had dumped all their McD’s rubbish, but we made it!!

I walked my young Weim the other morning at 5am off lead and despite 3 deer and many other smaller critters rustling around he stayed next to me or just in front for the whole walk. Absolutely loving this dog, he is a total joy to live with and makes me laugh every day.

Love these. Pen the young lab sat and stayed while 30 poults that I was driving home pinged off her head, chest and went past her ears. :-)

Not that recent but I have a large ring of alpaca hurdles that are used as a dog play area out front in the summer. One of my muscovies got out and wandered into it while both dogs were in there. Quarrie did a sit and leave while I went to extract the duck.

My new boy did really well at an event at the weekend despite only being with me for a few months. He had a great time playing with lots of kids and getting fusses from people in the crowd.
This week the hairy one got out for a spin and was helping to train a new decoy, who took a long time to recover :p and reported that he had never worked such a strong dog.
I think it's safe to say he's enjoying retirement.

ahh clever boy!! you never know what some nasty person has put into food and left for dogs these days :(

I’d forgotten what gun dogs are like....

so I was trying to think of a proud moment and it came to mind when I was walking my young black lab on the beach near us (20 years ago ;) ). This beach was one of the last few with salmon netting and on this day, the nets were out, and full. My boy took off like a bullet from a gun and helped himself to a MASSIVE fish from the net, just as the owners appeared in their tractor to gather the fish :o I have never legged it so fast in my life! With a delinquent hound bounding after me in the process of crunching and swallowing it whole :o

He was soooo sick.

Ok, so not so much a proud moment but I can laugh about it now:D

Willow has been to weight watchers (aka the vets) tonight and is now 22.5kg from 23.7kg. Still a long way to go because she’s not big built so probably should be nearer 20kg ideally but at least it’s going in the right direction.

Not so proud moment, she’s still a bloomin nightmare off lead and has no concept of family loyalty!!

I hate people that litter, especially food and food wrappers.

Proudest moment was a couple of weeks ago- I've actually just posted a thread asking for some help with it. Obie and I have started working trials training. First time we went he was a bit overcome, but the second time he really enjoyed it. The instructor was training us to do search squares- using 2 objects in an area of 15 yards square. Once he understood what he had to do, we moved onto a fresh square with the objects placed while I/him were out of sight. Took him under a minute to find them both and bring them back. I know you compete against yourself, but it was quite satisfying when he finished first (after some slight smirks from another owner when we turned up).

That is amazing - it is so easy to train a custome bred dog to do the job it is bred for, but what you are doing is amazing. And pics - we need pics!

My moment came back in May when big dog had her third agility win and went into grade 6, I believe the first of her breed to do so. I was desperately hoping we might manage it before she retired. :)

Same for you - 14 collies and a sibe!?
