My horse sadly was diagnosed with the above today. It is all very overwhelming with lots of information thrown my way. My vets are absolutely fantastic and have very quickly diagnosed and drawn up a plan.
I am just wondering if anyone has experienced similar, what did your recovery etc look like.
We are on box rest for 6 weeks then we will re scan and see where we are at.
I’ve also never had a horse on box rest before so any tips would be greatly appreciated, the vet had said to steep his hay for weight loss and also to help avoid impaction so I’ve done that. I’m also thinking if it has been steeped I should feed ad lib?
Thanks everyone x
