I have just signed up with them for our livestock trailer (they do livestock too)
70 quid a year is nothing for peace of mind that you can be recovered. Twice I have broken down with the trailer and stock in and needed to have it recovered. Once I had to find a commercial recovery service who would move the trailer with sheep in (8 hour breakdown then an hour to get home). Second time had to get the sheep taken out as no one would recover with sheep in it. Utter nightmare and they charged 150quid to recover the trailer 28 miles!!

I was seriously unimpressed with them when we needed them 2 weeks ago. 
Our 7.5t lorry blew a tyre on the way to collect a new horse. I phoned the break down no. which kept me on hold for ages. When I finally did get through it was the RAC whom they'd obviously contracted out to. There was then more being put on hold TWICE (phone battery running down, stress levels through the roof, as we were 100 miles from home) without them even asking if I had a horse onboard (good job we didn't!) and they came back to tell me that PRP had no record of us, despite me having the card in my hand and reading out the membership no. to them. RAC basically said 'See ya', but gave us a direct no. for PRP which I called, and I left them a message explaining the urgency of our situation, and I've still not heard back from them - 12 days later!! I tried to look up their website on my phone to see if there was a more urgent no. I could call, but the website is all flashy and not at all smart phone friendly (phone battery was getting worryingly low by this point!)
The whole thing was a complete nightmare and I am incredibly relieved to say that the seller's OH works with tractors and was able to go fetch his socket set and change our spare by the side of the road (Gosh we were so grateful for their help!). We're not using the lorry now until it goes to the garage on Monday, but after that I will be shopping around looking for some other (well recommended) breakdown cover.

Thanks, Puppy, I'll ring them tomorrow. They are NFU's breakdown recovery so I think I'll just 'buy' another in separately...

The only reliable organisation is: www.horsebox-rescue.co.uk as they will arrange an alternative lorry if your lorry breaks down with horses on board.
If you have a tyre blow out then use ATR or Stapletons as they specialise in commercial vehicle tyres and have a nationwide network of mobile units that can repair tyres on the roadside.
