My 5 yo tb has PSD in all 4 legs and dropped pedal bones behind. He has done very little in his life in the way of work, it seems fairly unusual to have it all 4 legs? The horse was broken in nearly 3 years ago and had problems with front legs, been sound for 2 years out in the field, scans at the beginning of the year showed up only a minor mid suspensory injury on off fore which hasn't changed in the scans that were just done.

I started doing some in hand work with him and some short hacks in walk, I have never lunged him or done anything strenuous, he's done nothing for 6 months as developed sarcoids on his girth then became mildly lame behind which the vet put down to sore feet.

He looks 1 tenth lame trotting up ( seen by 2 vets ) but on a circle is 4 tenths lame on both off fore and off hind and one tenth on both near fore and near hind.

Now starting to look mildly lame on trot up on off fore.

Anyone else's know of a horse with PSD in all 4 legs and what was the outcome?

My friends horse has got PSD in both her hind legs.

She was informed to have shockwave treatment for 6 weeks however my friend opted straight for the operation. The mare had the operation, 6 weeks box rest, then my friend turned her out in a small paddock and hacked daily for upto an hour on hard surface (no soft surface). Went back for a scan and told healing well, so went onto hacking daily with 5 mins of trot per hack.

Just been back for another scan and new fibre tissue has now grown and she can add in 2x20min sessions of schooling (walk and short trot only) upto Feb when she has a re-scan but vet very hopeful for FULL recovery.

Hope this helps a bit! :)

Can't really help but my horse has PSD in his hinds and I've opted to retire him. Mostly because he's 15 nearly now and has been on/off sound in front due to bilateral high ringbone. Though, I'm told front PSD is easier to treat than hinds.. so perhaps there is a way forward!!

Good luck!
