Rugging makes a huge difference to mine. I recently upped my rugging game again after falling into the "she's surely too hot" trap for a bit... with mine it makes the difference between picking out back feet being a bit if a wrangle and being much less of a wrangle! It's very subtle but it's clear. Just started working her again after a long lay off and she's moving like a train too... when I feel under her rugs I'm aiming for hot rather than just warm now. Which I hate (my other horses are unrugged unless they shiver!) but it seems to be apsolutely key for the big girl.
