It was reported several times on Three Counties Radio (Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Bucks) this morning that a customer in Bedfordshire went in to a well known supermarket to purchase 44 Easter Eggs for his charity. At the till they told him he was only allowed 10 Easter Eggs as it was a special offer (1 free with every one purchased).

The supervisor was called who upheal the cashiers decision.

He asked if he could buy ten and come in later for another 10 and then come in later for the remaining 4.

They said there was nothing they could do about it.

The charity these eggs where for where The Horse Rangers.

Tell us somehow (without contravening T&Cs!) which store it was so we can all NOT buy our eggs from there! Would it start with an 'A' or a 'T' by any chance - or any other initial you can think of?!

I would have got around it by buying ten and then sending friends in to buy the others but not asking them to get ten each - as that would make it too obvious especially if that was all they were buying- but each should buy different amounts.
I agree though that the supermarkets are being assholes but I suppose they are doing it so that everyone can get a chance at the offer and not letting people bulk buy. Even though it was for charity it can't be one rule for one and another for the rest. There are people who would flout the offer and bulk buy to sell on and still make a small profit especially if they run little shops where they can charge higher prices and people will pay it.
Also if someone had gone to the till to buy more than ten and were told they could not and then saw this guy purchasing 44 of them there would be an uproar I would think.
Would have been a nice gesture of the supermarket to let him buy the ten and then be given the rest for free seeing as it was for charity but then again we all know that supermarkets are there just to make money out of shoppers.
