)

problem:
have 2 lovely cat and love them to pieces. They have run of house and get spoilt..... but next doors cat has decided that it perfers our house to it's own...
He has NO fear, dives at cat flap even if locked to get in to have food, warm and company
Have even tried water, but no luck, will come back for more....
We have tried to restrict it's access but i want my cats to have chilled lifestyle... so we've decide to put up with it. But don't give it cuddles or love (would really love to, but not our cat)

BUT NOW..........

IT's GOT FLEES

So do i go to vets and get extra flee treatment for the cat and charge owners
or
Do it anyway and not say anything...

Can't not de-flee as can't stop in coming into our house...

Any suggestions without starting world war three in close!!

I ners and see what they say - you can buy some de-flea stuff in supermarkets and stuff which will be cheaper just for him and see what that does - good luck

would love too, but a there a little odd
and i know it sounds daft but they know it come to ours....
Even to point that 'Fluffy' will run out from it's home to say Hi to me. And dive bombs my cats so i can't welcome them

And its always straving........

a) talk to owners
b) de flea it anyway
c) perhaps get one of those electronic cat flaps where your cats have the collers on that unlock it so they can get through but next doors moggy can't?
Or if your not a coller person then just adopt next doors cat.

Well in that case i would just go to the supermarket get some flea stuff and see what that does - you can get the stuff which you just put on the back of their necks which apparently works well

a) it will be de-fleed -decision is do i tell?

b) my cats are too thick to use cat flap or to lazy or have trained us well. Even to point i have to chuck them out in morning and evening, just in case!!!

would love to adopt - BUT i would be really pisss........ if someone else adopted my cat

well then I'd lock the cat flap and I'd de flea it , they probably won't even know you done it so no worries there.
You con't have to officially adoptit just if it comes round it comes round type scenario I can't imagine anyone getting up set about that as recruiting new owners is what cats do best!

Get some frontline from

http://www.vetuk.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3

Cheapest place I have found and do the lot.

If you feel you can talk to the owner, tell her that as the cat is always in your place, and had fleas you did it along with yours.

Some cats do like to move home and apart from a magnetic cat flap with appropriate collar, seems like you have a long term visitor.

Do they really like the cat? If so, then they will ensure it is looked after correctly, if not, then looks like you have three cats.

I have this problem too, although not the flea problem, but my bloody cats have started spaying in my house

Yuck!!! Magnetic cat flap is the answer. I got a laser type on, but it made quite a noise and my timid cat wouldn't use it.

. So now it's turned off and the bloody thing keeps coming in.

ta
at mo mine haven't got any!!! that's the problem
and OH is nagging me big time to sort. And of course his not going to talk to neighbours!!.
Neighbours are large family with lots of coming and going and i think cat perfer quieter life
IMO it's not look after well, but i only see it when home??? He could be very much loved, who am i to judge???

In that case I would keep quiet and just get on and flea and worm - won't kill it if it gets done twice and then you know it is done.

Assume your cats are jabbed and up to date.

You are probably correct about why puss likes your place better - only thing you can do is start being very noisy but then you may have all three leave home!

I assume puss is ok in the house apart from fleas and not fighting etc.

Our very expensive Abyssinian cat decided that, actually, he prefered the old house to the new one and kept journeying back to it. No matter what we tried he kept going back and he had to cross a busy road to get there. In the end we left him as the people that had moved in fortunately didnt mind him coming in and we didnt want him getting hit on the road. Its really nice to know that he can have a warm place to sleep, he's fed, wormed and de-fleed even though he's not at home with us anymore - so I'm sure they wont mind too much if they did find out - its in the cats best interest at the end of the day.

TBH I would have a word with the owners.
My cat kept going into next doors without me knowing and they stole it!!

Have a chat with them and say you don't mind him popping in for a bit of warmth but that you noticed it has visitors and could they sort it?

My advice is dont de-flea it yourself.
Some cats can get reactions and if that happened, you'd be in big trouble I'd imagine!!
Talk to the owners....

I would tell the owners if you're going to de-flea, especially with Frontline or Advantage, as these do react with some kitties. If they don't mind him being in your house, and your cats don't mind him being there, I'd get going with the kitty cuddles. Can't have too many of those! Perhaps speak to them about feeding regime, too. If they're happy for you to adopt him, then do it!

I would let the owners know their cat is trying to move house, see the reaction and then adopt it. if there is lots of comings and goings, they prob havent noticed! Mind how you mention the fleas though, they may be offended!!
give it some whiskas and a cuddle.

I think you have a third cat. Cats normally decide where they want to live. I would deflea it -give it a cuddle and accept it lives with you at least part of the time. At least it gets on with your girls and doesn't spray.

I have a tom cat who comes in and cause four of my five cats to spray everywhere - nightmare problem.

Buy a cat flap with one of those magnet things that you put on their collars (use cat safe collars), that way your cats will be able to get in and out and your neighbour's won't.

If you are friendly with your neighbour I would also mention the fleas, as it's not very nice if your cats socialise with next door's cat when they go out to play.
