Last year i had a problem with Hemir not going through puddles, or any stretch of water (he would rear and trie and spin)....have since concurred that but yesterday had a lesson and there were puddles in the school and he just would not go through them, I know it doesn't come overnight but i was wondering if you could give me any tips on how to make it easier!! At home he will go through anything (streams, puddles - big and small) i just don't understand why he wouldn't go through them yesterday
I don't think it helped that i wasn't riding well and perhaps wasn't up for a fight so let him win...not sure, wasn't thinking straight
In the end i got him going through one of the bigger puddles as it was too big for him to jump and got him in the middle but he still reared up when i asked him to go forward
It could have just been a bad day for both of us!!
Anyone got any tips on how to get him through puddles in a school? only go up there once a week as he is kept at home so not easy!!
Do you think it was him just playing on the fact that i let him get away with it? Just being naughty becasue he could?!
