BOF's got a horse whose knees puff up quite significantly. Has been clobbered (by jumps!) a bit in the past and now they're pretty puffy all the time. He used to use DMSO to get the swelling down, but now he believes it just aggravates the problem.
Anyone got any good ideas for reducing swelling (preferably something I don't have to order abroad)?
Could they in fact be capped knees?
Thanks all

back to the "old wives" remedies again. Cabbage leaves! They work on new swelling, not sure about old ones though. Doesnt cost much to try and always available. Bung a few of the outer leaves around the swelling, put cottons on then stable bandage as normal-re apply the day after(new leaves). With knees being difficult to bandage if your not tops at figure of 8s try those things you get in the chemists-theyre those netting things that hold dressings in place on human limbs-cant for the life of me think what theyre called-those tubing things that stretch when you put them on then mould to the limb-theyre elasticated. Give it a bash, it might work, if not, you can make cruati with the left overs
