As Im a "turnout unless absolutely necessary to stable" kind of person, I wonder if you lot could advise on puffy legs after being stabled? I know its quite a common thing to happen but poor elderly pony for the first time the other night came out with tree-trunk hind legs! Id rather he stayed out obviously but during really awful weather it would be a hell of a lot more practical if I could stable him overnight so the other horses could have access to the shelter (our layout is odd).

Would fleece bandaging help? I have Bioflow boots but they're too big for him - but I would buy him some if they worked??

I wouldnt worry providing he goes out and they go down. In the old days we would have used stable bandages with gamgee underneath!

But I would ensure he goes out. My oldies come in from time to time and their legs blow up but they are down within an hour or so of going out again. I have learnt not to worry!

If they remained swollen then obviously that would be cause for concern.
