Oh dear, following on from earlier post Henry is now paying the price
frown.gif
He has now been sick six times since this afternoon
frown.gif

I am a bit worried since on Saturday he managed to eat two corns on the cob
mad.gif
He was sick on Sunday and then brought up a huge lump of sweetcorn tonight.

However his tummy is small and soft - he is not bloated or tender. So am planing on starving him tomorrow, will add a spoonful of honey to his waterbowl and see how he goes.

He is a little bit sorry for himself but generally ok, snuggled up on the sofa at the moment. Have just taken the kitchen rugs away ready for tonight and will put newspaper down!

I shouldn't be too worried should I?

Blimey that is a long time to wait before bringing the sweetcorn back up isnt it? Saturday to Tuesday?

Sounds like he is busy getting rid of the stuff he cannot digest, so I wouldnt worry too much

Good luck with cleaning up sick in the morning

Without wishing to go into too much detail, the sweetcorn has had a guest slot for some time
crazy.gif
This was a BIG chunk though!

Debating whether to leave him at home tomorrow, there's no one that can pop in for me though at such short notice so he'd be at home all day on his own.

O poor Henry!!
frown.gif

I guess he is having a learning curve with regard to what he can and can't eat!!

I wouldn't worry to much - starve him for 12 hrs and then give him chicken and rice - I'm sure he will be fine!! Sweep eats all sorts and is still here!! His favourite things are curry, kebab with chilli sauce etc with no ill effects so probably not the best example...........

Hmmmm I would tend to have him where you can keep an eye on him, but that is easier said than done as you dont want him throwing up all over the office
crazy.gif
Could you not take a sick day tomorrow to keep him company?

Has he been eating normally for Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues? And like Rema said, is everything else normal or is it that he isnt digesting anything?

ETA - have read the other replies now
grin.gif
I would starve for 24 hours not 12 (being awkward here
tongue.gif
) and see what happens
smile.gif

Well as for the sweetcorn i wouldn't worry!! If it is coming out of both ends you know his gut is working properly!! Sweetcorn can't be digested which is why it passes through whole - same in humans!! In fact they use to time how long it takes things to passes through a digestive system....sorry a little to much information there!!!

I think this is a ploy to get more chicken and rice. I shall be watching him closely to see if he is sticking his paws down his throat.

Silly dog, thanks for reassuring Ms Neurotic Owner 2009 yet again guys...

Don't worry Ann. You're right he is a silly beggar, or something close to that anyway!

Splotchy I agree about sweetcorn! 'Twas the result of a failed barbecue experiment that Henry managed to clear up later
mad.gif

He's been sick twice overnight and has also had the runs last night and this morning
frown.gif
Still seems ok in himself though, quite disgusted I haven't fed him! Am debating whether or not he should come to work today.

I would keep an eye of him. I have heard of dogs eating whole sweet corn and the husk causing a blockage. Obviously as he seems to be functioning at both ends he should be okay
tongue.gif
but it is one of the things I am always very wary of. Hope his insides sttle down soon

Oh no....
crazy.gif

He is ok today but he has got the runs. However he has had no food at all so has no ammo left! Seem fine in himself, belly still soft and comfortable, not tender at all.

He did come to work after all so currently is on his lead on his bed, surrounded by newspaper with my car rug underneath that with the plastic side up! So he is sulking as normally he has the run of the office
smirk.gif

Am now really worried again
crazy.gif

Sorry, didn't mean to worry you, just thought best to warn you
frown.gif
As long as he is drinking okay I would just keep monitoring him and keep the poor lad without food. IF he is sick a lot more and seems to be getting dehydrated or if still no improvement tomorrow perhaps a word with the vet
frown.gif

Han dont worry, I ring my vets for EVERYTHING (is white bread ok shes just stolen half a loaf, she's looking at me funny....you get the point!) and I know all the receptionists by name!!

Sure he'll be fine, you're doing all the right things anyway xxx

It's not easy being neurotic....

Henry has spent today here, sulking at being on the lead and being surrounded by newspaper like a baby:
Photo0086.jpg

However this evening we went for a walk on the heath off the lead and he was his usual self - was VERY naughty with another Cocker we met and basically semeed fine. He does seem to be a bit constipated now though, he was scrubbing his bottom as though his anal glands need doing but has only had the runs a little
crazy.gif
But not sure if that could be a result of having eaten nothing since yesterday morning. He wasn't eating grass which he was desparate to yesterday and hasn't been sick all day.

If he is ok tonight I will give him a small bland meal in the morning and see how he goes. If he's still having issues by Friday we'll go to the vets, but at the moment he seems happy in himself so am not too worried.

Check out that face
blush.gif
!! That is one sulky spangle

!!

I think you'll find its probably just that he hasn't eaten anything.

I swap him for Sweep - he is sitting on the sofa growling at Max all because he has got an empty chocolate raisin packet he nicked out of the bin and Max wants it......
