Fly came to me with his tail pulled and although I wasn't particularly a fan of pulled tails before I actually really like it and think he looks fab and neat. It is growing out and I haven't a clue how to keep it neat, someone said there is a special 'razor' you can use, is this true and how do I do it?

the purple wisker trimmer razers are very good.

i just run them down the sides and lightly over the topside for a neat tidy look.
i was once congratulated on my 'beautifully pulled tail' by a judge and i didnt dare tell her it was razered!!

It would be good if someone could show you how to pull it properly before it grows out. If he is happy with it being pulled (some horses really don't care!) then just pull a bit out each day to tidy it, and your tail will stay fab. It really is just a matter of pulling the hairs from the side of the tail (never the middle)

My horse is exactly the same, his has started to grow out now and i would love to have it all nice and neat again for the summer. Someone did one show me how to do it so i gave it ago but i didnt dare do much as i am scared i will meake a total mess of it!!!

when i tried to pull it, am i right in thinking that you take it from the side quite far under? as one side now looks better and flatter but the oher side is still wild, and the hair is to short and wispy for it to be platted

Yes, you just pull the sides (at least to start with), as with the mane, do it when the horse is warm after exercise. If there are still very long hairs in the middle, you can shorten them slightly (with pulling). The tail will look 10x better after you've bandaged it - this flattens the hairs.
