Has anyone experienced this and if so in connection with what?

Ex-hurdler TB. He’s been in for a work up, lame RF as determined by nerve blocks and gone from 3 1/2 years unshod (with boots for exercise on hard going) to shod in front.

Over the 3 1/2 years he’s had 4 brief episodes of hoot foot, digital pulse and this other, higher up pulse and returned to ‘sound’ once limb has cooled and = with the other. His tendons have never been hot or ‘up’.

Since the vet visit and blocks blocks and front shoes on, he’s had this pulse higher up in his leg but no commensurate digital pulse and not visibly lame.

He has had a few summer time, hard ground episodes of the hot hoof, digital pulse and upper inner forelimb pulse which I thought was bruised sole from pasture hooning.

7+ years ago had sdft injury and rehab to sound. Vet has gone positive hoof block and changes on X-rays = navicular syndrome. I’m thinking SDFT or other soft tissue but scans not done - yet.

Anyone else had this ‘higher up’ pulse? And what could be causing it?

Sorry, I’ve no experience of this but didn’t want to read and run.
When I read the thread title my first thought was it maybe something to do with thickening of the suspensories putting pressure on veins type scenario - but that is just what popped into my head ?‍♀️
What does the vet think could be causing it? Do they think it’s significant - you obviously know every little detail of your horses legs. If no obvious lameness could it be bi-lateral?
Hope you get some answers ??

Ah thank you. ?

With all the experience on here I’d expect someone has also found the area a bit warm, swollen and pulsing either from trauma injury or something. Vet sticking to the navicular diagnosis but I enquired about sdft scans due to the unexpected symptoms. He’s been on box rest with hand walking.
