My TB punctured his sole over the weekend on a sharp stone. Vet removed & fortunatley no sign of infection. She said to hot poultice for 3/4 days then moved onto a dry poultice with purple spray until healed over. He has also been on a course of anti biotics until yesterday. He is much happier on it now.
Yesterday the plan was to move onto a dry poultice but he managed to get the poultice off when I was at work and was wandering around dirty yard with it exposed. I cleaned it up best as I could - very lively back legs!! Decided hot poultuce better again to get any remaining dirt out. This morning - back legs getting dangerous now I changed it for dry animalintex with purple spray on put into a poultice boot & vet wrapped on! Do you think this is acceptable? Will do this until healed I think. Have just googled purple spray & people dont seem to rate it??
Any other suggestions welcomed as to how to dress but he is becoming increasingly difficult to handle - very intolerant orange horse!
