Pup struck down with Parvo - Healing vibes please

A further update, she is in good spirits and is eating and drinking and toileting as she should, BUT were the IV had been has caused her leg to swell. The vets are keeping her as worried about secondary infection and the fact her system is so run down she doesn't have enough white blood cells to fight that too. She is being injected with antibiotics and anti inflammatories to try and get the leg down so will probably keep her until the end of the week. So please please keep all crossed and ask your dogs to keep their paws crossed and hopefully we will have her home.
I was going to give her Ainsworths surgery mix, has anyone had any experience of this?

Everything crossed for you . . . it's rubbish when our furry family members are ill or injured - try and take heart from the fact that she is in the right place and there has been massive improvement.

Thinking of you :).

I thought I would give an update to all those that were kind enough to think of us & kept all crossed for her recovery. I was able to collect her on friday morning, exactly one week after she was admitted. She had been off the IV for three days, eating, drinking and going to the bathroom as she should. But her leg had swollen from where the catheter had been and she was v v lame on it, not weight bearing. The vets said it blow up when it came out, who knows, whatever happened she looked as though she had a club foot. They had been injecting her and it had made progress but not much. They were sure I could look after her at home and nurse her. She was sent home with antibiotics and thats about it!
She was a bag of bones, you can feel and see nearly every bone in her wee body, not surprising after not eating for a week & being so close to death. She lay about and slept in front of the fire all day yesterday, I had to carry her down the two steps to the garden and set her on the grass each time she needed the bathroom. I can't believe she remembered to go to the door if she wanted the bathroom bless her. I had ordered specific veterinary food for her recovery but it had not arrived unfortunately so feeding as much of the Royal Canin little and often (about 8 - 10 meals) to build her back up. She has so much muscle wastage from lying in a cage recovering. She literally has nothing & weak and wobbly. I explained to my husband that although she is home, she is actually still fighting the virus and still need to sleep and eat to recover.
Today she has been brighter, I was able to start the homeopathic remedies when she came home and I believe they have helped bring her leg down considerably and she has been able to walk with only a slight limp. She doesn't do much as everything is still exhausting which is fine, she needs to recover. My other dogs are being kind to her as they sense something wasn't right.
I hope she continues to fight and get better and build condition slowly but surely. I can't believe she survived, she really is one in a million the poor girl

That's great news that she recovering and also back with your family at home What a big hurdle she has got over.. We found the hill a/d tinned food good to get the dog going when in extremis,as its high calorie and easy to digest.
