Are there any tips to make sure they get on.....??

Zak is nearly 8 now and tomorrow will be getting a little sister

I would be so sad if they dont get on.... he is a lovely dog and I would hate to think he would be unhappy!!

Plenty of space and time out for Zak, crate for seperation when u are not there, so Zak can have some peace and puppy does not get a nip, and try to tire her out so they can rest together and he can assosiate her with some peace and quiet rather than a little annoying up start

He may be grumpy at first, give him an escape route if he needs one

Agree with above.
Also make sure you give Zak lots of love, so that he knows this new dog wont take you away. Give the puppy lots of time out breaks in the crate, puppies need a lot of sleep and Zak will want time away from puppy.
