Does anyone know of any puppies for sale in lancashire area? My brothers looking for one, a larger breed, possible lab or spaniel, he doesnt mind if its a cross...
Try all the local rescues, they often get pups in at around 6 months esp when they start to chew everything - still plenty of time to train a pup at that age.
Otherwise I would suggest looking for good breeders in the local area and contacting them direct rather than go to Epupz (which has badly bred/ puppy farmed dogs as well as well bred ones- so can be hard to filter through them)...
You need to ensure a puppy comes from parents with good temperaments/ hip scores and health checks in general.
You can search the kennel club website for litters of KC reg'd puppies in the area - but then I would suggest you also do a bit of research into the breeder as well.
Other than that - I 100% agree with Thistle about rescues
edited to add... Please don't buy a puppy unless it is from a good breeder (and definately not a cross) - if he is happy with a cross - please go down the rescue route
I'm sure they're against it - but it wouldn't nescessarily stop puppy farmers advertising on there.
I had a look when I was looking for Loki and there were loads of non KC reg dogs, lots of cross breeds and people being greedy about the cash they were asking for... I just think you have to be careful looking on there. That's more what I meant.
I agree with above,Epupz is ok,but you get the good breeders and the not so good breeders.I,ve used Epupz and consider myself a good breeder and ask alot of questions to potentail homes. If i don't l;ike the sound of someone, they its a no,no.If they are looking for a cross then try your local rescue centre first.
