After the excitement of yesterday's competition, even more excitement this morning!
Florimell had 4 healthy pups this morning, two seem to be grey and two fawn. Both scans we did showed 4 so all's well there. They were born between 6.30 and 9am, so just over two hours. She is very protective but at the same time really wants OH in the room with her!
They were supposed to be born on June 2 so they were a bit early. I can't wait to see them, the earliest I can drive down is Friday
OH is completely smitten. I cannot thank heavens enough for Skype with the webcam, it's almost like being there!
(Before people start jumping on me, we only decided to do this after extremely careful consideration. The breeder we bought her from, a well-respected vet who is very active in the Italian greyhound showing world, always told us he felt she was really good enough to breed from. Before choosing a stud dog we spoke to Vertragus, Italy's oldest and most successful Italian greyhounds kennels, to ask if he felt it was worth breeding from her and he was convinced it was (and was quite happy to have pick of litter instead of stud fee in cash!). This is the (stunning) father, who has done quite a bit of modelling for Italian fashion houses
