I think I will get shot down, I bred a litter whilst working full time. Thankfully mum delivered on the Friday so we had all weekend to keep an eye on them but from day 4 mum was left with her litter all day until they went to their new homes at 10 weeks. I kept a pup, house training came slower and she was crated as protection from the others. So now I have 4, all springer spaniels that are left together for 10 hours! They have a very large space within the house, and I have cctv so I can check on them throughout the day. But honestly all they seem to do is sleep 
Beck to the question, I wouldn't sell to someone who would leave a pup all day alone, mine have each other and a lot of stimulation outside of my work.
