Puppy car sickness

We brought our little collie pup home today and she is the cutest little thing but in the car she was sick about 10 times and pooed which was pleasant, she's all bouncy and happy now though.

Any ideas to help make car journeys any easier for her?

We plan to take her on very short journeys to get her used to the car (literally 1 min round the block) will this help?

Short journeys, feed her in the car, cardboard underneath her, ginger!

Sounds like a plan, you could always do a few sessions first of sitting in the
car with the engine running for a short time.

Also, where are the pics!!!

Sit her on newspaper.
Either ginger tabs or ginger snaps (made with real ginger)

Crate her in the car so she feels contained.

Mine threw up lots on the way home and every journey for about a week afterwards, which was bad! We walk in woods ten minutes away and they come to the yard so they had to get used to it. Short journeys help and I think being able to see where they're going really helped. I didn't crate them after the journey home and they can see where they're going in the boot (4x4).

Some pups can find car crates a bit too claustrophobic, others revel in them. It is really common for puppies to get a bit poorly in the car though, so don't worry, the vast majority of them just grow out of it

Don't feed her before journeys, apart from a little ginger to help settle her stomach. Take plenty of water out with you though.

She travelled really well to the vets today, was only sick once. Hopefully she'll continue improving thanks for all the advice.
