Puppy food with no chicken

My Doberman is allergic to chicken and I’m having a hard time finding a puppy food for a pup her size (29kg at 10 months) that won’t tear my bank in half
Any suggestions?
She eats around 600g a day so 100 euro per 12kg bag is a lot

I'd forget about puppy food and just get her onto adult, it's a bit of a marketing gimmick IMO and there's often far too high a percentage of protein.

I'm not a scientist or a vet, but almost all the dogs I see that are way over-sized/have growth and associated lameness issues, are overstimulated and have allergies/are 'hot', have been fed on very expensive large breed puppy food. It's probably just a coincidence but I've never seen anything that's made me want to have my dogs on it.

I've never had a dysplastic/arthritic dog (confirmed by x-ray) and neither did we when there was no such thing as large breed puppy food, just crappy old Winalot or Favour and raw green tripe from the abbatoir.

I usually take off puppy food at around 6 months. The Millies I mentioned is just a normal adult food though quite high protein. The nutrionalist I spoke to at Millies did recommend changing to a lower protein when she reached 12 months, but she only has a small Millies feed now, her main meal is raw, so I haven't changed it.

If you mean the hypoallergenic , it has chicken fat in it . A lot of the hypoallergenic ones do which is so annoying

Dogs with chicken allergies are allergic to the protein of chicken. Chicken fat is unlikely to provoke an allergic response as there is no protein in fat.

Well I have her on whistlers at the minute which is like €40 a 12kg bag so it’s not a overly expensive food but she has been very itchy, licking paws and itchy ears so vet think she’s allergic to chicken as oils haven’t improved her coat (rarely bathed and done with sensitive shampoo when needed)
So need to get her off chicken but will look at some adult foods! Just don’t want to drop the meat content too much
She’s currently on 40%

Skylos online do a large breed puppy Salmon 15 kg £65 delivered.
I find you don’t need to feed very much of this, so it doesn’t work out expensive.
They will do samples and were very helpful when I phoned up to ask a few questions.

If you are looking for options available in Ireland Zooplus has plenty of options. Burns have several poultry free options, Redmills Engage Salmon and Duck options would also work. Maxi Zoo have an own brand range, Real Nature which has some poultry free options also.

Yup, the percentage difference in many puppy/adult foods is approximately 1%. The phosphate is an issue you might want to look into. I’ve swapped pups very early onto adult food.

Yep its is super frustrating I'm in Ireland too.

I do look at what's on zooplus.ie and compare on this site as this is all I really have access to.

I just ordered the Rocco sensitive with lamb and rice to give it a try but on vets advice I now need to put him on a very restricted diet of the Purina hydrolysed soy protein.
