So, I would like to introduce my lovely Spice, any guesses on her breed...she is a common pure breed, but an unusual colour...

7weeks at the breeders

It is a yellow labrador but a darker shade than the commoner cream. Labs are allowed to be "Wholly black, yellow or liver / chocolate, yellow range from light cream to red fox" but that puppy is not fox red, just a bit reddish.

"Fox red" is the latest fad colour and there are some dodgy breeders cashing in and very few actually are the real deal.
 
He he!! I know that pup, I'm really good friends with her breeder and saw the pups most weeks. Glad to see little Spice is doing so well, she is such a cutey. I loved Leon out of that litter, would have loved to have had him.
 
s4sugar, I can whole heartedly vouch that this particular pups breeder is by no means "dodgy" or "cashing in". She puts her heart and soul into planning and breeding her pups.
 
SHE is indeed a lab, and regardless of her 'fad' colour or otherwise is very much loved and was not chosen for her colour. Again I can very much vouch for her breeder, couldn't have asked for more TLC for them all definitely not cashing in or anything sinister.
Springtime, thanks, she is doing really well, everybody that meets her loves her, she is a real credit to her breeder and her Mum :)
 
S4sugar my friends proposed pups parents are working Labs, my friends husband shoots and thats what attracted him, both parents are hip and elbow scored and this pup will be trained to work. Im not very good at genetics and there is no guarantee as far as I know that the pups will all be fox red.

no guarantee at all although some may be darker than average as there is no such colour just lighter and darker yellows I would guess that if both parents are dark you have a greater chance of the pups being dark if the dad was all black the pups would be all black if he looked black but had a yellow parent half roughly would be yellow and half roughly would be black
Spice is a very cute puppy and looks very contented
