I have a 7 month old setter puppy fit and healthy bouncing about never had any problems.
At lunch time he was out playing in the garden (safe no dangers or things to get caught in)
He came running in and I noticed he was lame in front
He does dig huge holes in the soil.
He is much worse after he has been lying down and it does gradually walk off
I have not allowed him out in the garden unsupervised since and have walked him for a short walk on the lead to go to the toilet.
He is no better this evening
I was thinking of sticking to the same routine tommorrow and ringing the vet first thing on monday for an appointment.
I wonder if he has pulled something digging (which he does do manically!)
Do you think it is ok to leave him until monday
Should I ring the vet if it gets worse or just wait until 8:30 on monday .The vets are really good and I should get an appointment first thing.
Not sure that I think it is an emergency . He is still full of beans .
He sleeps in a large cage at night so won't be able to rush about.
