This morning we went and chose a puppy (hugely exciting!!) and ever since having been having the great name debate. She's a cross between a field spaniel and a welsh springer spaniel, and seems to be a bit of character! She's not overly boisterous, but is interested in everything and a friendly little thing. Any suggestions on names for the little monkey would be gratefully received! Here's a couple of pics we took today sorry they're not that great. She's currently five weeks old

Sooo cute!

Counting the days now til we can bring her home....

aww what a cutie!!!!!!

umm not sure on names, im always really bad at that sort of thing!

Jazz?
Midnight?

my friend said Maisy. lol

Yep, they're in the western morning news, and I think you're right, she is the one in the pic. OH needs persuading on Maisy...., what do boys know though, I like it!

Well, looks like she's the odd one out colourwise so I'd be calling her Odds (and Sods!) sorry, that sort of name would stick in our house; poor puppy basset has been called Weasel cos she wees a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a cute pup though, hope you enjoy her!

Googled for Welsh name -

Mabli (or Mabel in english) means Loveable?

Mali (Molly in english) means Beloved.

I thought of welsh name cos it's quite unsual and not many dogs with same name also to keep with her cross breed of welsh spainel...

Thanks for all these, it's so difficult! Think she is going to be a bundle of mischief, has a definite glint of it in her eye. Keeping the welsh theme is a good idea - just need to find one the OH likes too, which is more difficult than you would believe!

Welsh............is Bridie welsh, irish or scottish? It's quite sweet anyway.
How about...
Megan
Cerys
Bronwyn
Tafi (the female version of Taffy!)

Bronwyn means white chest, or, if you ask a Welsh man, white tit! Our EBT rapidly became Bronny after all the hunt people fell about laughing at her name!!!!!!!!

Tess, Jess, Meg, Maisie, Poppy. First few that come to mind.

I have a black cocker spaniel called Jasper. He's just adorable even at the grand old age of 11. Spaniels never lose that "cute factor".

She has got an old fashioned little face hasn't she! Really do appreciate all the suggestions, are helping us no end. Meg is looking like a front runner at the mo, seems to suit her. Can imagine myself yelling that at her when she's up to no good!
The breeder has said she will email further pics til we go and pick her up - will keep you updated
