We have a six month JRT male puppy, & a seven year old JRT full dog. They both get on really well together, sometimes a bit too well!!
They hump each other all the time ! Is this normal, & if so can we expect the puppy to grow out of it? I'm hoping if that is the case the older dog will lose interest in this new game.

It can be a dominance thing, I would nip it in the bud to be honest, one might get fed up and snap at the other one and it is quite rude/overbearing behaviour. The young one might end up doing it to the wrong dog, some day.
You can distract them with a loud noise or handclap or stern voice.
Are either of them neutered?
My friend's very dominant dog will mount my pup when he gets ideas above his station :o but in fairness, he usually deserves it :o

No, neither of them are neutered. They seem quite happy to take it in turns for who goes on top ! The older male pretty much ignores what the puppy is doing to him, to the point where he can make his way from one room to another with the puppy hopping along on his hindlegs behind him. I do try & stop it, because it drives me mental, but they seem to go through spells during the day where it's constant for a while then they settle back down again.

Could it be your older started and puppy has kinda got into the habit? obs dominance is one reason but bitches in close proximity in heat can also trigger this behaviour and (this will sound vile):o when a dog does this (bonking/dry humping) they still release (fluid) this alone can trigger a sexual drive, smells/hormones, will will result in more humping.
You could reprimand and make them aware when they do it, you step in, give a little dig and a "off" or bolloks off:D

That would drive me mental tbh! If they are doing it obsessively over a short period could you "time out" the perp in a different room? I would just give mine a slap on the bum and a loud NO - but I am mean :)

Acting on the advice received reprimands are being issued backed up with the old reliable rolled up newspaper (all of about five sheets !). We are already at the stage where a loud 'no' gets their attention.
Thanks to all who answered for the great advice & reassurance.
