Puppy is now 5 months, fed twice daily as this seems to be what is working for him. We used Arden and grange but due to supply issue we changed over to another brand... the name escapes me(it is hypoallergenicy stuff with little "stuff" in it). Since this change his stools have been perfect in the morning but come 4pm through the evening they are very runny.
I haven't been to the vet as he is well in every other way and doesn't appear distressed by the runny poo but it has now been a week of the same pattern, any thoughts?
He is due wormed in the next couple of weeks... even at that it doesn't make sense to me that they are only runny at night.?

Ours are always harder in the morning. (TMI!!??). I always assumed as they eat rubbish all day (chicken poo, 'poached' eggs, layers pellets, various other poo, food spillages...) that it was just natural digestion but if you are strict about his intake then I imagine CC has a point.

He tends to poo after having a mad run around so could be down to that... perhaps we are feeding him too much also I didn't think of that. Will have a look into it. He was the runt of the litter so we did feed him more than the guidelines as he was underweight but perhaps that is it .. Thanks both of you food for thought for me!
He also does eat a lot of nonsense during the day.. . Horse poo.. cat poo... Horse feed!! So difficult to stop though but we are getting there I think.

Mad running=runnier poo for mine sometimes, plus swimming, maybe cos of the higher water intake?

Perhaps this also.. He takes on a load of water. He loves playing in the horses water and helping me fill the buckets and eat ice so possibly. So many blooming things it could be! Would anyone be taking to the vet or just ride it out and try and eliminate things?
