We have just started to take our 2 pups out on walks, they are both about 13 or 14 weeks old. How long should we be walking them for? Today we went out before work and we have just been out again - as we aren't too familiar with all the footpaths around here we were out for a bit longer than we planned! They have the run of our garden (plenty of space) all day and night. How long should we be aiming to walk them for at this stage, given their age and development? Don't want to overdo it but they are bounding with energy and enjoying it! Our walks have been around 40mins each.

Depending on breed about five minutes per month so 15 minutes a day & split into two or more sessions if possible.

Oops! Ok we have been out for too long in that case. It's only today they have been out on 2 walks of that duration. We will cut it down them. One is a border collie and the other is a terrier cross. Thanks for your advice.

Ok, thank you! We have only been going on walks since Monday night so hopefully haven't done any damage, and today was the first time they went out twice. I am signing us up for puppy classes too but they don't start for a few weeks.
