There are so many absolutely adorable HHO puppies at the minute, and it got me thinking that if we’ve got a kitten watch thread, we ought to have a puppy equivalent. (If for no other reason than as an act of charity for the starved-of-puppy-photos people among us - myself included!)

No photos of puppy Mrs Spaniel but Mrs Collie's previous owner sent me some of her puppy photos - She still occasionally falls asleep with her tongue out!

Wow! @Bellasophia I had no idea silver poodles weren't born silver! I guess it's like greying out in horses? Is it a done deal or is it a bit of guesswork as to if they grey out or remain dark?
(I know nothing about poodles coat genetics as you can probably tell!)

the silvers are all born black,as are the blues( which remain a deep slate blue grey)
the silvers show silver hairs around their foot pads at birth, but take months, even years to dilute their colour to silver.I looked at several kennels and pedigrees to try to get the colour I wanted..if the parents silver out early( by two) they often white out as they age..like a horse.
Having silver has been fun as people think I’ve changed my dog every few months they look so different in their coat colour. For me it’s like a cygnet to swan .
