Our puppy who we bred ourselves and kept has a little sore on her belly that just won't heal. It scabs over then the scab comes off and it scabs again. I asked the vet to look at it when she had her 2nd injection and she said it was fine, nothing to worry about but that was a week and a half ago and it still hasn't healed and tonight she knocked the scab off and it bled.
We will take her back to the vet obviously but can anyone suggest why this is happening?
She's 12 weeks now.
Thanks

Awwwww she is SO sweet - what sort is she?

Wouldnt worry about the scab to be honest, it took me all my time to see it on the first pic so it isnt very big

I expect the reason she keeps knocking the top of it is because she is playing around doing puppy things - maybe bung some Sudocream or similar on it?

Thanks Acolyte, she is a German wire haired pointer and totally adorable!!
It is about the size of a penny the mark on her tummy, the photo is a bit deceptive as it does look like nothing.
I guess I am just worried as it doesn't seem to want to heal and I am worrying sort of person really..............

I think your vet would have said if it had been anything to particularly worry about, but I expect I would be a bit worried if I were you as I am that kind of person! I am really sure she will be fine though, and it will heal up of its own accord

That is quite possibly the cutest puppy I have seen in a long time!

We're hoping to get a puppy soon and I would love a GWP, unfortunately I think we have to get a small dog

I wouldn't worry about the scab, she probably just keeps knocking it so it won't heal!

I wouldn't worry too much either.

Just for information, you can clean sores or injuries with Optrex - it's safe to use on dogs, and I agree that Sudocrem would be good for it as well, it will act as a barrier to keep bacteria out and encourages healing.

She's lovely.
