Does anyone feed it? Does it work out more expensive than just feeding straights/basics with necessary supplements? £26 a bag seems quite pricey at first glance, but it looks like it would last about a month and maybe make life abit easier rather than buying everything individually.

How much?? Which particular one?

I feed Pure feeds, Working (£15.60) or Easy (£13.99) depending on work levels, both do the job for mine. I did use the veteran nearly 3 years ago for B, just a couple of bags to help rebuild her to start with, but that's now 15.60 so has gone up by about £2 since then

Edit, just checked prices on my local feed store, the Linseed is the most pricey at £20.70!

Yep, I feed the Fibre Balance and 3 of my 4 absolutely thrive on it (the 4th beast is on different feed altogether as he has a very different metabolism). The only thing I add is any medication/supplements and a bit of salt.

ETA it's only £18 ish per bag, so I'm not sure where you got your prices from...

Yep and have done for a few years now. I feed far less than their recommended amounts though which would result in mine not fitting through his stable door. It works out cheap for my two and means I don't have to faff with balancer etc. I use Pure Easy most of the time, but have used competition and performance previously.

It’s great as long as you feed the recommended amount to ensure they are getting the right amount of vitamins/minerals. Otherwise you may as well feed chaff with a balancer.

I feed the Pure Balance. It does last about a month for a bag feeding 500g a day (I marked a scoop). Horse looks good on it. I do feed linseed as well for shine - and more in winter for calories.

Their price comparison on their website is alarming. Does anyone else get through a bag of chaff per horse per week!? As my bags last WAY longer than that...

I'm so amazed by names of feeds these days. Honey Chop, blah blah blah. I thought this would be a thread about buying individual feed stuffs and mixing them oneself.
:)

I think it would be a pile of fun to work in a feed naming office.

Unless your horse needs a lot of bucket feed I wouldn't bother feeding the pure balance as you have to feed quite a bit to get all the benefits of the balancer, if your horse needs a few handfuls of something in the bottom of a bucket just buy a powdered or pellet balancer and add that to your bit of chaff or whatever you feed.

I have fed the pure fibre and a few others in there range but not everywhere stocks it near me so I stopped using it.

Pure Easy doesn't set the micro cob's cow pats off so she gets that (& no idea why she's ok with that & nothing else). Looks good on it, right balance of energy without being silly and we're seeing slow improvement in her feet.

Bit pricey for 3 so the others are getting beet and Honeychop.
