Although I could have cried at the time

I'll make it brief - dreadful traffic so took long detour, arrived after 2 hours instead of 1 hr 20 mins. Dressage looked OK if a little lifeless but put that down to muggy weather so Jack was pleased with 33

Walked the course which we thought was a fair test - lots of problems at 3, a drop to a step and then 2 strides to a skinny and was all quite technical and big (and the PN looked horrible). Onto SJ where it all went a bit pearshaped, Duke put a dirty stop in a 4 (so did lots of others) jumped 2nd time but did a stupid baby jump over the second part then Jack jumped 7 instead of 5

(he did say Duke just locked on and went - humph!) so big E

However he was allowed to go xc as judges said he wasn't dangerous just a bit confused

Did another great clear and although Jack was just schooling him round he said Duke was really up for it and they only got 4.4 time faults - in a way it worked out well cos the ground was quite hard.

White wine and homemade cheese and potato pie all round

We did Pre Novice yesterday, first ever only had new Horsey 5 weeks, was very pleased to get a clear SJ and just a 20 on the course, rider error.

Mmm home made cheese and potato pie, yum!

Didn't compete but was there yesterday and today. I didn't like the look of the PN either - very big and very techinical IMHO! It definitely won't be on my list of PN's to do!
