My boy has had all sorts of issues in the 5 months I've had him. One of which has now been (hopefully) resolved with a new, better fitting saddle!
However, his old saddle was really uncomfortable for him and he was bucking in canter etc. He threw my friend, who unfortunately had an encounter with a 6ft garden fence and broke her wrist,
He has been in his new saddle a few times but is very tense and stroppy when its put on and still feels a bit jumpy when ridden. I havent cantered him in the new saddle yet as I have also slipped a disc (nothing to do with him), so am only just getting back on (walk and trot).
Obviously due to my slipped disc Im nervous about canter in case he bucks, but I've lunged him in it.
Basically I was wondered if anyone had any ideas how to help him realise this one is different and doesnt hurt so he doesnt have to buck?
Long memories are lovely for horses who have had easy lives, not so good for those with troubled backgrounds.
