Sorry, lovely topic for first thing in the morning, I know.
Lad has a cut from brushing himself and it has got a bit infected. The vet has been so he's on antibiotics and has been hot poulticed for 2 days twice a day. The colour of the pus is now the same colour as an Aquamax bag (sort of creamy vanilla). Just wondering if you would keep hot poulticing for now or switch to dry poulticing? I don't know how 'clean' the colour should be to indicate it is drained. There is still some residual heat and swelling (not much and could partly be caused by the bruising from the original injury).
Not wanting to bother the vet too much if I can help it - they are a small practice with a large client base.
Any advice gratefully received.

Id hot poltice at least today and tonight and then go on to dry, If there is still rubbish coming out, then there is still some infect in there, If you take it off and its completely clean, then its gone.

Lou x
