Put my mind at rest - a height question.

Welshies are often born quite big in relation to mum. More common in As and Bs but it can happen in the bigger sections too.
 
Don't wish to alarm you but....... I bought my lad at 15months he's by a trad stallion who is 15.2, out of a 15.1 mare. Said I wanted a 15 -15.2 cob. Was assured he would make "about 15.2". He is now 6 and is a good 16.3 and showing signs of still growing (he made 15.2 for about three weeks 6 months after I got him!!). Having said all that I wouldn't trade him for anything - he is such a lovely person. I just bought a very large mounting block (I am an elderly and arthritic old bat) and have to choose my pub stops very carefully - must have a wall or seat I can use!! Good Luck - it will be fun! An advantage is that you can have a right good nosey over peoples' garden walls!!
 
My chaps 17hh out of a 15.1hh mare (dad unkown but highly unlikely to have been any larger because i doubt there was any very large coloured stallions just banging about at that time!)

Could be that she won't be too much bigger but might LOOK it if she's built like you say. My Dad's horse Shannon is only 15 hands but because of the cob in her she looks about 16, as well as having plates for feet. She certainly looks alot bigger than she actually is.

I don't know anything about this but just wondering if thi could be the case?

Also, she is adorable <3
 
My mare was 14hh to a 16hh stallion, the foal's knees were higher than the mare's and she has ony made 14.3hh at maturity. The leg length depends on breed and my mare was a sect d x with short legs, foal's sire was a TB hence the longer leg, higher knees.

My mare is 13.2hh but everyone thinks she's bigger because of the way she's built.
