My mare had a mild case of laminitis in june and has fully recovered now and is a good weight again. She got the laminitis through a combination of putting on weight when i was ill and unable to lunge her and going into a new field (hardly any grass in it though
) we think as it very suddenly came on a week or so after she moved into the new field. I then moved her back into the old field after her box rest and have had a friends horse eat down all the grass that had grown in the new field.
My mum now wants our ponies to go back into the new field and i cant really keep my mare seperate as she panics and either jumps the fencing to get in with my mums mare or stresses herself until she colics
Am i just being stupid in thinking its that particular field that "caused" the laminitis? I know in my head that it probably wasnt but i really dont want my mare back in that field
