Putting field paste on wet feet

I currently use sole cleanse once a week (usually mid week) and field paste once a week (usually weekends)
However pony lives out so his feet aren’t always dry and I just find the field paste doesn’t really stick if they’re wet. Is there a magic trick or shall I stick with sole cleanse for now?

I use a bit of a cotton wool roll to dry after scrubbing before adding the paste.

I use NT dry in the winter partly for stickability. But a good towelling first and not putting too much on seems to work ok otherwise.

I just go for a quick pat with a towel and slap it on furiously until it sticks!

I find the clay from Horse Leads is not as runny and therefore sticks better.
