Really, really sadly I've got to put my amazing hunter on loan at the end of this season as I can't afford the livery bills anymore. I have hopefully found a brilliant home for him though which is good. But I've never had anything to do loaning before so if anyone has any experiences or advice of things to avoid or include in contracts etc then I would love to hear of them. I've seen the template on the BHS website and was planning to use that unless there's a better one?

I know the people who will hopefully take him very well which does make it slightly easier but equally would hate to have any grey legal areas about the agreement.

Many thanks in advance!

The BHS template is good, just think of every possible scenario invovling your horse and consider whether you have covered it..who will insure it (I recommend that you continue to do this), where it will be kept, what it will do, who will ride and handle, what is your preference if your horse needs to be PTS in an emergency, photos and value of any tack/rugs going with it, is your horse identifiable by freezemark or chip, even mention any long term medication or suppliments if these are important to you.
