Putting horse on loan

I am thinking of giving up for a while, I won't sell my boy but want to take q step back fora bit.
Please can people advise where I would look for someone to loan him, I know the dangers but also know it can work thank you in advance
 
Advertise locally. That way you'll find someone close enough to still be able to keep tabs on your horse and make sure everything's running along okay. Feed stores, tack shops, local supermarkets, pet shops, etc. And vet who ever calls thoroughly!
 
And ask around - I was looking for somewhere for my lead-rein pony last year, asked a few friends and contacts if they knew anyone who would be interested and had people fighting over her within hours! She is now with the daughter of a former work colleague for her two sons and thriving so work your network as the perfect home can come from the strangest of places!
 
Word of mouth most def, or don't give up on HHO I found the most perfect person to full loan mine originally made contact via HHO! Xx
 
When i put my horse out on loan i advertised locally as mentioned above and gave a few of our riding clubs in our area adverts for their websites. Although at the beginning i wanted him to stay at my present yard it just wasnt plausible with the type home i wanted.
Remember to set out an agreement, i used the agreement that the BHS offer making small alterations to suits me and my horse.
For the first 6 months - a year they only had copies of his passport

I did this to ensure i was happy before passing over any doccuments.
I am in regular contact via facebook text or visits to make sure everyone is happy with the situation as a loan works both ways. You are entitled to take your horse back if you arent happy just as they are entitled to end the agreement if it isnt working.
Good luck in finding the right home, not everyone out there is looking to scam you!
