Any ideas of what would be a good bit to stop this? I am using a basic full cheek snaffe atm. I would appreciate any advice or ideas and if you have any special bits to recommend I need them to be avail in the US. Thanks in advance!

What sort of horse?? Has its teeth been checked?? What mouthpiece has the snaffle got??

My cob mare started putting her tongue over the bit (even with a drop noseband fitted), the dentist checked and her teeth were fine, but she has very fleshy bar, so he suggested trying a single jointed bit, so more ation on her tongue and less on her bar as the flesh was being pushed against her teeth by the action of the bit. She has been fine ever since.

She has probably got quite a small mouth with possibly a bigish tongue so not much room for a bit if whelsh type head. Have you tried a french link or lozenge type bit??

Otherwise a small ported mouth piece may work -

My sister is using a peewee bit on her big mare who has a big tongue and fleshy mouth. She was being very fussy in her mouth with a french link, but seems to really like the sweet iron mullen mouth of this one.

My new boy is doing that too, he is now in a loose ring french link which has helped, but I am also using a flash just to get him out of the habit, and I think in a couple of weeks I can leave it off.
