Fab day at the Pytchley ODE today :D
Bit pushed for time when we arrived but luckily they were running about half an hour late... anyway dashed to get my number, unload ponio and raced round to the dressage :p She warmed up really nicely so felt fairly confident but bear in mind we "don't do dressage" ;) Tops had never done any in all her 17 years til she came to us and is a bit of a giraffe still and turns like a motorbike :p Numpty on board here probably doesn't help matters!! :o :D
Anyway she didn't do a bad test considering... she was a bit spooky at the white boards because she's not really seen them much and today was our first event of the season so a bit out of practice... got a 41.something dressage (Pony club so lower=better :p )which i think is really bad? :p anyway who cares :D

Had a bit of a break before the SJ so walked the XC course (was busy so couldn't walk the day before) The ground was pretty shocking but otherwise a nice course... decent sized intermediate with a few quite meaty fences but mostly fine :)
So onto the SJ... like a numpty I missed walking it so had to go in on a wing and a prayer :o :o :D She jumped really really well except had a stupid refusal at a spooky filler... not very like Topsy but she's a funny mare :p Bit disappointed but hey :)

They were running about an hour late for XC so leisurely got ready and wandered up there to warm up... Anyway XC was FANTASTIC :D :D She flew round and felt amazing :) There was one sticky moment coming into these three barrels, offset at angles... she took a stride out over the first, hence complete rein slip so no reins into the second and third elements... she was a star though and popped them no problem with lots of kicking and growling from numpty rider :p

Like an idiot I forgot my camera so no pics yet but I bought two fab pics from the pro photographer so I'll put links to them once they're up on the webby :p

So after the rubbishy dressage and disappointment SJ I wasn't expecting to get placed... ambled up to look at the results just out of interest and was  :D to see I came 6th!!! So mad dash back to the lorry to get jacket etc for prize giving... Very surprised and happy to be in the rosettes :D :D

So pleased with Tops today... our first event of the season as I've had GCSEs etc so we were a bit rusty and haven't done dressage in goodness knows how long :p

Sorry for the ramble and much choccy if you got to the end!!
:D
