Hello! I am looking to gain some qualifications and was wondering what is the best! Is BHS or ABRS equivalent? I was thinking of getting my Stage 1,2 Riding Units then some other theory/care qualification. What are your thoughts?

Generally the BHS ones are more widely recognised.

Perhaps you could tell us what you hope to gain with the qualifications - are they to open a career path or simply to help with your own knowledge?

The (fairly recently) unitised BHS Qualifications fit onto the National Qualifications Framework so it would be relatively easy for universities and prospective employers to recognise the level of qualification you have gained if you were to go with these.

The ABRS qualifications can be slightly cheaper if this is a consideration for you. However they are not as widely offered so you would need to find out where they would be available in your area.

The ABRS ones are a bit cheaper, but the BHS ones are more widely recognised. It depends what you are looking to do with them, if you just want to gain some experience than you could do ABRS, but if you are looking to use them on your CV etc, than BHS might be better as again, they are more widely recognised.
