Quarter marks/sharks teeth clipped into coat??

Is it usual to clip quarter marks and sharks teeth?

Have been round horses for more years than I'd care to mention

but I've never seen a horse with it until today.

It might've been because he was a grey but I thought it looked ridiculous

Not cliped but brushed in. Though greys are a swine for getting quarter marks to show up!
Still I would never clip them in!?

Yes, I've seen hearts, stars etc left when winter clipping and think they look cute

The pony isn't clipped and the marks left hairy, if you see what I mean, the hair is clipped off to make the pattern.

My phone didn't save the piccy, no memory, so I'm going to have to take another sneaky pic of it
