Question about Lister Liberty Clippers

Hi, I have these. Their not too noisy, my horse was terrified of clippers but shes accepted these ones, all mine are native x's and can get extremely hairy. They run through the coats fantastically and the battery time is fab!! Best value for money these clippers IMO

I used them on my native for his first clip and he was fine and they coped with his extreem fluffiness and clipped his legs and face without any bother. I would love a pair but they are just to expensive for me as I'm now a poor student and the persons I borrowed has moved away :( but if I could afford them I would have a pair happily. The only thing is it takes ages for them to charge so put them on the night before.

I borrowed some and hated them, they were new too. The tension kept slipping so ended with with a uneven coat, got hot quick and the battery pack didn't last half as long as it states on the box, plus the conector had broken and when ever I put arm at full length it popped out.
She returned them and I finished with old faithful ones

Hi,

I'd recommend Heineger cordless. They are larger and heavier than most cordless clippers but all that size is both power and reliability. They will work as good as a heineger progress for 90 minutes. Ideal. Anything Heineger make is excellent.

Your other option is a lister liberty but I dont like listers unless someone is selling them stupidly cheap. The comb studs wear, the drive yolk will eventually wear, get chewed or fall off and they dont generally stay quiet for too long. They stay quiet just long enough for the salesperson to clinch a deal...

I used to have the heiniger progress clippers but they only lasted two years and around ten clips before they packed in! After a quote of £160 to repair them, I decided to get the Lister Liberty. They are brilliant and do lines much better than my old heiniger ones. I don't find them noisy (easily clip heads) and the battery pack will last for two full clips. My two are very hairy monsters and have 3-4 full clips each year. My clippers are now a year only and I have done eight clips myself and two friends have borrowed them too.the blades can easily do 3-4 full clips before needing to be sharpened. I was warned to use them during the summer to clip feathers, beards etc as that keeps the battery pack charged.
