Just to satisfy my curiosity.. does this make Bella not breed standard? (The white smidge on her nose) Its not as massive as it looks.. but I presume it means she cant show at a high level?

Not amazingly fussed about showing her,I think she's gonna be more a flyball/agility type of creature but I'd like to know ...shes nicely conformed otherwise and good parentage.. :)

Thanks..

Oh ,also, anyone know what show normally qualifies for Crufts in the East Anglia area? (for a friend :) ) x

As she is only a wee baby you will find that white will fade to nothing most likely anyway, if in doubt look up your breed standard and that will give you an idea, hope this helps x

As regards which shows qualify you for crufts in east anglia , do you mean single breed shows or all breed shows ? . championship shows are qualifiers where cc's are on offer, none coming up till after xmas which is Bolton champ show at east of england in January , as for single breed club shows ,look on fossedata or higham press and all shows are on there .

From the breed standard-
Solid colours

Black; red; golden; liver (chocolate); black and tan; liver and tan. No white allowed except a small amount on chest.
&
Faults
Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree and its effect upon the health and welfare of the dog and on the dog’s ability to perform its traditional work.

It is a fault ( and one that anyone at the ringside can see ) so you would be wasting your money unless the dog was otherwise exceptional. The breeder should have explained this. Qualifying shows in East Anglia - General (all breed) Championship shows like East of England and groups or breed club shows plus it is possible to qualify at certain open shows.

You'll probably find that fades out, I have Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas and they're russet gold and are only allowed small white marks on the chest and a little white on the feet. I've seen them born with massive white chests and totally white feet and by the time they've reached show age they've gone. We've had them with little white stars on their head and that's usually gone by the time they go to their new homes.

There usually bright white patches not little smidges like your girly.

Do you mean there is white on her nose or on her muzzle ? If she is quite young they usually grow out of white pigment on the nose if it's not too big (noses are pink/white when pups are born & gradually blacken). White on the muzzle you are stuck with unless the dog is quite young (again) in which case the marking may disappear with maturity.
Re showing, yes it is a fault but so is a wide front (for example) & there are plenty of those on the showring doing quite well ! It is all a matter of degree. Two similar dogs competing against each other, one with a very wide front & the other with a tiny smidge of white. With me judging, the one with a smidge of white would get it as it would be, in my eyes, a lesser faut & certainly not a conformational one.
As for finding a show try Googling the breed & area to find a breed club, find the secretary & they will be able to help you.
