I've decieded I want a tweed jacket

a) Because its correct for showing
b) I can wear my favourite jods (not white ones - woo!)

Now choosing the tweed colour?

What is 'correct' to show a LW/MW coloured ? And to do a little bit of dressage on ..

I don't know about correct, but I think the yellow one on top will clash with your pony! I rather like the green one. What is your own colouring?

I like the second one best. think it will contrast nicely with Sol

I do like the 4th one but i don't think it would be 'correct'.

I think the green will go nicely.

Agree with spookypony that the top one will probably clash with the gorgeous Sol. Think the bottom one will be too dark as well personally.

Green is prefered for coloureds in the show ring. Can you go and try the different colours on so you can see what suits youy best?

Well if I was buying one for me and my piebalds then I would go for either Lilly or Robert. But as yours is skewbald I think a darker green would suit better so zara is a nice colour.

Yes , she is very bright so really I don't want anything that would detract from her orange-ness would I ?

I am right in thinking that green is the way to go though? I may wait until the local county show and go try million of green jackets on?

The green is great, I wouldn't get the blue.

You don't see many people wearing blue tweed because historically, it wasn't as good a quality as the green/brown tweeds. You don't see professionals wearing blue tweed ever.

Green is most common as it tends to suit all colours of horses should you get a new one.

Avoid the blue! It's generally considered unproffesional!

Personally I like the mustard on coloureds, having seen it before. It's entirely up to personal choice though

If you have photoshop, you can get a photo of you on your horse in a show jacket then use the eyedropper to change the base colour of the jacket to get an idea of what it'll look like without making an expensive mistake.

I always thought blue tweed looked nice. However, i saw a lady at the county show (and i am SO sorry if you are here and reading this, lady) who was wearing a blue tweed and it looked vrey substandard. The two other competitors in the class both had brownish tweeds which looked nice, the other lady had a blue which should have looked very nice with her gorgeous grey horse, but jsut...didn't.

I too have a horse which enjoys to be orange - I have a green tweed jacket and a canary yellow yods, cream shirt and red tie to show.

You can't go wrong with green, however my coloured is a dark bay and I have a dark brown tweed from Mrs Candy that really works with his colour, along with a brown hat. With this jacket I use cream jods and shirt and a mustard gold tie.

Green is great for piebalds, bright bay/chestnut, light coloured skewbalds so you would have more choice of what horses you rode with the green.

I have a green tweed for when I get round to showing Farra as she is a bright bay sabino. With this jacket I use a navy hat, yellow shirt, canary jods and red tie.

Believe it or not I hate fashion, but do like to match my show outfits nicely.

my first instinct was to say the first one - my tweed is similar in colour and i have a very ginger pony and i think it looks nice.

howevr i think the green will look really nice, and like you say not distract from the colour of your ned.
