how deadly piosonous is yew?

how much can they eat before it harms them?

what are the signs when they have eaten it from a little amount to a large amount

im just wondering as my mare decided to push the fence down that i had put up to fence it off and i dont think she has eaten any

Deadly.
Absolutely deady.
They can only eat tiny bits and it kills their liver. I have a friend who lost one to it.

Liver damage can only be fixed if you catch it early. If you are in any doubt whether she has eaten any contact your vet immediately to see if he recommends an antidote straight away.

If she loses any weight or seems at all off colour in the next couple of weeks, that could be liver damage. Don't wait!

thankyou i just wanted to know ecase thetre are any signs
i looked at the pplant and there is no fresh tears so fingers crossed
its on my dads bosses land and cut it down too late if they wanted it i dont want it her paddock it scares me

I have read that it is so toxic that the horse or pony can be found dead with it still in its mouth!!! I suppose they could have swallowed some too though

I had to research all about this recently, as our next door neighbour has planted yew in garden next to the horse field.

As everyone says, completely deadly, death can occur within an hour, horses have been found dead with it still in their mouths.

Nasty.....
