I thought I had posted this but it must be the gin

I am going to visit a Dealer friend today to talk horses. I have an urge to put together a Requirements doc with maybe some pictures of horses that appeal and those that dont.

I am not expecting to turn up and say match that just to indicate my leaning and I understand that my 'wish list' will have necessities and niceties what do you think ?

Would this be a help or would a dealer find me a nuisance. As I say I am not expecting to match it but to use it as a starting poiint ?

Any dealer worth his salt would appreciate a client who knows what they want. It will also concentrate your mind on what you are actually looking for - I say go for it and good luck !

Definitely go with a list of does and doesn't (e.g does jump 1m, doesn't have any vices), any decent dealer will appreciate the thought you've put into the list and will be able to quickly rule out unsuitable horses. If the dealer is a friend then even better! I probably wouldn't go so far a taking pictures but a does have TB build or doesn't have cob build would be as helpful (or vice versa, I'm not saying you TB shopping!)

I think its a great idea... and wished I'd thought of it when I bought through a dealer. As said... it will also serve to keep your own mind on exactly what you want. I am sure any good dealer would be glad to have a client who knows as much what they don't want as what they do.
Ps... Prob better to leave the gin at home though!!!

i am classed as a dealer - and what a great idea! you wouldnt believe the time wasters we have, ok some people really know what they want but take these for example -
the 16.2 i advertised and the woman who wanted her for her 6yr old daughter. honest. after 2 phone calls, SHE called ME dishonest and a time waster!unbelievable. :-O)
the 15.2 just backed 3yr old ISH the bloke turned up for and said to his 9 yrold daughter - there's your birthday present - (i think not!! only i felt soooo mean)
so YES PLEASE, send me your requirements!! i would love to say, no sorry, i dont have anything, OR, yes, please come and see!
and any dealer worth their salt, would agree with me.
