Question for those on full/part livery.

If your YO moved your horse from one field to another because it was being bullied would you expect YO to discuss this with you first, or just to get on and do it?

As I was moving a very sweet, inoffensive old boy out of a field away from an utter pig of a pony it suddenly occurred to me that maybe B's owner would object. She won't though, and I'll leave a note on the board and email her to let her know why, and I do say right at the start that I will move horses if they aren't happy with the group they are in. I just don't do bullying or fighting here, it is one thing that really makes me cross with horses, even though I do understand the reasons for it.

If you are on part/full livery do you expect this as par for the course? I know I would.

i would expect them to move my pony before he came to harm, and send me a text saying that they had done so and why

I'd hope someone would remove my boy regardless of what livery he was on if he was likely to be harmed.

As a YO I would do exactly the same, I state in my livery agreements that turnout groups and field rotation are to be decided by myself and will be changed without notice if required.

I am happy for my horse to be moved to wherever my YO sees fit.
She treats each and every horse as if it is her own, even those whose owners treat her like something they walked in on their shoe and I know she will be doing it for my mares benefit.

No I completely trust my YO to make decisions in the interest of Charlie and the other horses, as long as she told me what she had done then all fine!!

Totally agree with this.

We did have a livery move, after two weeks of hysterical tears (to our groom behind our backs) because her bully of a horse was partitioned off from the herd by unelectrified elec fence tape - it could still touch the others over the fence, just could't rip them to bits. The livery thought their horse was an angel, and couldn't see what a problem it was!

If anyone had any doubts - just think of all the posts on here from liveries complaining that their horse has been put out with something that kicked/bullied.
